An extraordinary parliamentary session initiated by the opposition PS to cancel the transaction tax will not take place. Deputy Speaker Peter Žiga explained that the session's agenda was identical to a proposal rejected by parliament last December, and the mandatory six-month waiting period had not passed. PS leader Michal Šimečka criticized the decision, arguing that the ruling coalition is using a double standard. He pointed out that a similar proposal was allowed just a month after being rejected in a different form, questioning why the same rule was not applied to this case.
