Friday protest gatherings peaceful

On Friday, public protest gatherings 'Slovakia is Europe' were held in more than 40 Slovaks towns and cities as well as abroad, with the largest held in Bratislava. The police reported on its social network that the protests in the Bratislava region had a peaceful course, without any public disturbances. Attendees called for Prime Minister Robert Fico to resign.

Speaking on Sunday on private TA3 channel, Fico said he does not think that the government is currently in danger of falling. However, he did not rule out the possibility of early parliamentary elections. According to him, these will take place only if Smer-SD wants them.
