Hungary to continue providing gas transit for Slovakia

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó assured Slovakia that Hungary will continue to provide natural gas transit through the Turkish Stream pipeline for as long as needed. After meeting with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár in Bratislava, Szijjártó confirmed that over half a billion cubic meters of gas have already been delivered to Slovakia.

Szijjártó also noted the cooperation on using Russian oil products refined in Bratislava in Hungary, stressing that energy security is a matter for both countries to handle independently. The two ministers also discussed shared geopolitical views, particularly regarding the Ukraine conflict. Blanár expressed full support for the current approach of the U.S. administration under President Trump, seeing potential for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
