Slovak President Peter Pellegrini met with families of COVID-19 victims on the National Day of COVID-19 Victims, stressing that the pandemic should not be forgotten. According to him, the pandemic was a significant event that cannot be treated as a short period in history.
In his speech, Pellegrini criticized the focus on conspiracy theories about the virus. He also called for an evaluation of pandemic management, expecting answers about mistakes made during different waves. Pellegrini also pointed to the lack of a memorial for the victims in Slovakia, urging Prime Minister Robert Fico to find funds for its creation.
