Slovakia communicates like commentator

In the past months, Slovakia has been communicating like a commentator, at least according to political science expert Erik Lastic. As he explained for STVR, we spread signals as if we were not directly affected by what the world will look like and we were not neighbours with a country that is on the brink of possible disaster.

Lastic also discussed how this stance might pose security risks. “Because Slovakia has no chance of defending itself from possible questioning of its own borders, opening up some historical questions, if such a wave of questioning begins to prevail, for example, on the European continent, that's why I perceive that the communication, especially from the coalition that currently holds power, is very short-sighted and really only thinks directly about electoral gains," said Lastic.

However, according to him, it is not clear how they imagine the future of Slovakia and security guarantees in the coming years and decades.
