Slovak experts working at CERN praised by Foreign Minister

During his working visit to Switzerland on Tuesday, Foreign Affairs Minister Juraj Blanár highlighted the significant contributions of Slovak experts at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN).

The minister met with CERN Director-General Fabiola Gianotti, who praised Slovakia's active involvement and contributions.

Blanár emphasized Slovakia’s participation in key experiments within the Large Hadron Collider, particularly ALICE and ATLAS. According to the ministry, CERN has 164 registered users with Slovak passports, including 19 with long-term contracts. In addition to ALICE and ATLAS, Slovak teams are involved in the ISOLDE and NA62 experiments.

The primary purpose of Blanár’s two-day visit to Geneva is to deliver speeches at the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament, the ministry's communications department stated.
