Slovakia backs two-state solution in Gaza war

Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) met with Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa’ar during Monday’s Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting in Brussels. Both leaders expressed interest in strengthening bilateral relations, with Sa’ar inviting Blanár to visit Israel, TASR learned from the ministry's communications department.

Their discussions also covered the war in Ukraine and the ceasefire in Gaza. Blanár welcomed the truce between Israel and Hamas and strongly supported the release of all remaining hostages, emphasizing that this is a key condition for lasting peace. He reiterated Slovakia’s longstanding commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and a two-state solution, highlighting that Slovakia had previously recognized Palestine.
