Self-employed to pay new insurance contributions by February 10

Self-employed individuals are required to pay their January social insurance contributions to the Social Insurance Agency by February 10, based on a new assessment base. The agency has provided online calculators to help with the calculation of the new contributions, which apply to both self-employed persons and those with voluntary insurance. The calculators are available for an informative estimate of the contribution for the period starting January 1, 2025. They can be accessed on the Social Insurance Agency’s website.

The new minimum contribution for self-employed persons is set at €237.02 per month from January this year. The maximum contribution for this group is €5,214.49. The same minimum contribution applies to voluntarily insured persons, whether for pension, sickness, or unemployment insurance, and is set at €251.32.

The agency recommends that clients adjust their contribution amounts in their permanent bank orders and verify the variable and specific symbols.
