Daniel Bombic also known as Danny Kollar, who has been charged with extremism, was escorted from Great Britain to Slovakia under strict security measures on Tuesday. Three arrest warrants have been issued for him.
The escort was carried out by Interpol Bratislava officers in cooperation with officers of the Emergency Police Department of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Bratislava under strict security measures.
Bombic is accused of the crimes of expressing sympathy for a movement aimed at suppressing fundamental rights and freedoms, disseminating extremist material, incitement, incitement to national, racial and ethnic hatred, dangerous electronic harassment and unauthorized handling of personal data.
Bombic is represented in court by David Lindtner of the law firm Kallan Legal, representing Defence Minister Robert Kaliňák.
Bombic built his popularity in the disinformation scene during the pandemic, when he vulgarly attacked medics, police officers, journalists and politicians. Ahead of the 2023 elections, he supported the current ruling parties and filmed debates with politicians. Robert Fico, Robert Kaliňák, Matúš Šutaj Eštok and Andrej Danko were guests in his videos.
UPDATE: After spending a night in a police detention cell, Daniel Bombic was released on Wednesday afternoon. He will therefore not be prosecuted in custody. He has not even been given a monitoring bracelet and has no restrictions. The decision is not final and will be decided by the Supreme Court.
