President Peter Pellegrini has called on state institutions to enhance the cybersecurity of their information systems and data storage in response to potential cyberattack threats. The statement from the presidential office warned that Slovakia could face severe cyberattacks in the coming days. On Friday, January 24, the state-run General Health Insurance Company was targeted by a cyberattack. Earlier in January, a large-scale attack hit the information system of the Slovak Office of Geodesy, Cartography, and Cadastre, which is crucial for district cadastral offices.
