The coalition's Hlas-SD party will propose anchoring in the Slovak Constitution the right of women to the same remuneration as enjoyed by men for the same work, the bolstering of regions via changes to the election system, the ban on discrimination based on health disabilities and age, and equal access to quality education, Hlas-SD chair Matus Sutaj Estok announced after a two-day party congress on Saturday.
The party plans to discuss its proposals with coalition partners. Sutaj Estok underlined that the party has emerged from its congress more united than ever and "with this newly-restored unity" aims to promote its priorities.
Sutaj Estok claimed that both Hlas-SD and its voters "are Europe" and Slovakia is a stable member of the EU and Schengen zone. The party chair responded this way to Friday's (January 24) mass protests titled 'Slovakia Is Europe' held across the entire Slovakia.
