Ukrainian President celebrates the Velvet Revolution in Bratislava

On Sunday heads of state of the Višegrád Four countries (Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia) as well as the presidents of Germany and Ukraine will attend the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the of fall of Communism in Bratislava.

A working meeting of Slovak President Andrej Kiska and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko will also take place, followed by a joint working meeting of all the presidents at Bratislava Castle. The Višegrád Four countries and Germany have in recent months been remembering the democratisation process. Poland and Hungary held ceremonies in June, followed by Germany in October. Slovakia is to take over this Sunday, with the Czech Republic to conclude the cycle the day after.
