Slovakia's foreign trade recorded a surplus of €229.3 million in August, according to the Slovak Statistics Office. Overall exports went down by 3.2 percent year-on-year to €4.641 billion, while total imports dropped by 3.9 percent year-on-year to reach €4.412 billion.
The highest annual increases in exports were seen in exports to the United States (20.3 percent), Spain (16.5 percent) and the Netherlands (14.3 percent). Trade with Russia decreased both in terms of exports by 11.3 percent and imports by 12.2 percent.
