A club called Friends of Public City and Regional Transport unveiled a reconstructed historic Vienna tram GANZ Eg 6 on Nábrežie M. R. Štefánika in Bratislava on Saturday.
After a two-year reconstruction process, the vintage tram is slated to be displayed at the Transport Museum at Šancová Street in Bratislava as part of a thematic exhibition. The reconstruction has restored the tram to its 1914 form, with complete interior and historic inscriptions. The local tram railway Bratislava-Vienna operated in 1914-45 and contributed to the unique feel and charm of old-time Bratislava, then known as Pressburg. The future of the tram is not decided yet.
