Slovakia's healthcare system ranks as one of the weakest in Europe, sitting in fifth place for poor performance, according to a new Globsec study. Over the past three years, Slovakia has spent an average of just over 1,500 EUR per capita on healthcare, significantly below the European average of nearly 3,000 EUR. Slovakia lags behind in diagnostic equipment availability and adoption of innovative treatments, with delays of up to 500 days for new medical technologies. The situation worsens due to a lack of investment in preventive care.
