New version of Slovak national anthem played in first minutes of 2025

The new version of the Slovak national anthem was broadcast on Slovak Television and Slovak Radio in the first minutes of 2025. The Culture Ministry also noted that singers and musicians can continue to perform the national anthem at various events, as they have done in the past. The modification of the national anthem was prepared by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. The new arrangement has been introduced after 32 years, while the original lyrics and melody remain unchanged. In the new version, the anthem is intended to sound more solemn, include a short overture, and feature a typically Slovak element, such as the fujara. The author of the arrangement is Slovak composer, conductor, and producer Oskar Rózsa.
