The Slovak Foreign Ministry has rejected statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who claimed that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to open a second energy front against Ukraine at the behest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry described Zelenskyy's remarks as unsubstantiated fabrications.
The Foreign Ministry emphasized that Ukraine should not overlook the fact that Russian gas transiting through Ukrainian territory provides vital income for Slovakia. It further stated that both the EU and Slovakia continue to support Ukraine and its people, urging Ukraine not to create additional adversaries.
