Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Paška will file criminal complaints against some Opposition representatives for false accusations and slander in the case of the purchase of a CT scanner by the Piešťany hospital.
This is the case that Health Minister Zuzana Zvolenska, and parliamentary vice-chair Renata Zmajkovicova resigned for – just two days earlier. Some Opposition MPs say that it is Paška who is the real behind-the-scenes beneficiary of the deal, as the device was delivered by Medical Group SK company, with which he used to be affiliated more than a decade ago. Paška rejects these accusations, claiming he had left the company before he became an MP. However, he offered no comments to repeated questions of journalists as to whether he has maintained any contact with Medical Group SK representatives.
