A new version of the Slovak anthem, created by controversial musician and producer Oskar Rózsa, will be officially played for the first time in the first minutes of the new year 2025. Slovak Culture Minister Martina Šimkovičová announced on Wednesday. “I am curious about the reactions, but so far they have been positive," she said stressing that the new version is not a revolution that would negate the original version. It adds a short overture and new elements, such as the fujara. "The new version is more solemn, sunnier, has more euphoria," the minister added.
