During a meeting with President Peter Pellegrini on December 9th, Pope Francis emphasized the importance of helping others and practicing solidarity. He shared a message of kindness, urging people not to elevate themselves over others due to differences in background, belief, or identity.
The President in a 35-minute discussion with the Pope recalled their previous meeting five years ago where they discussed global suffering and future challenges. Additionally, Pellegrini met with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin to discuss bilateral relations, especially issues like the recognition of academic degrees for Slovak clergy studying in Rome and the care for the sick and elderly in hospitals.
