Less than one half of Slovaks (41 percent) trust European Union institutions, which places the country below the EU average (43 percent) in this regard for the first time ever, says the Eurobarometer survey.
Another of Slovakia's negative records is that only 6 percent of Slovaks aged 16-24 showed an interest in the European Parliament elections, well below the EU average of 28 percent. The above follows from the latest poll following the EP elections in late May that was conducted between May 30 and June 27 on a sample of 1,041 Slovaks. As many as 27,331 people were approached for their views throughout Europe.
