Slovakia is to buy two Italian military cargo planes, the Spartan C-27J. The deal has been signed, informed Defence Minister Martin Glvač. The two planes cost the Slovak Republic some €34.5 million each.
The first aircraft is set to be delivered in 2016, the other one a year later. “I believe that this contract concerns the largest modernisation project in the history of the Slovak Armed Forces,” said Glvač after signing the contract with the Italian company. Apart from the two cargo planes, the two sides also signed contracts on training and logistics support for the Slovak military worth €25 million.
