The Bratislava plant of German carmaker Volkswagen (VW) will participate in the production of luxury SUV Bentley Falcons by manufacturing the vehicles bodywork, representatives of the Bratislava facility confirmed for website AutoBild.sk on Friday. The new automobiles will be offered up for sale as of 2016.
The Bratislava factory is currently focusing on completing the construction of its bodywork production facilities that will be worth €600 million and involve 1,000 robots - almost the same number currently in use at the plant. The new facilities will be used to produce the bodywork for a new generation of cars, including the Audi Q7, the Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg. The challenges involved in assembling Bentley SUVs will require dozens of highly qualified experts, with the plant set to create 500 new jobs for this purpose.
