The rules governing the selection of new judges should be improved even further, President Andrej Kiska stated on Thursday when holding talks with Justice Minister Tomas Borec and Judicial Council head Jana Bajankova.
During their hour-long conversation at the Presidential Palace, the three discussed recent alterations to the Slovak Constitution along with changes in legislation associated with the judiciary. “I have to reiterate that I can see light at the end of the tunnel, but just because Mr. [Stefan] Harabin is no longer the head of the judicial system and in spite of the changes that have been made, this doesn't mean that we've dealt with everything that needed to be salvaged in the judiciary,” said Kiska.
