The unemployment rate in Slovakia was measured at 12.44 percent in September, falling from 12.56 percent in August, head of the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (UPSVaR) Marián Valentovič stated at a press conference on Monday.
On an annual basis, the jobless rate shrank by 1.4 percentage points. Drops in the unemployment rate were recorded in five out of the country's eight regions, with the biggest reduction seen in the Košice region (by 0.27 p.p.). The highest jobless rate was measured in the Prešov region (17.48 percent).
