Bodies of dead Slovak climbers returned home

The bodies of climbers Ján Matlák and Vladimír Švancara, who died during the Dhaulagiri expedition under the seventh highest mountain in the world, are now back in Slovakia.

Foreign Ministry was involved in the secure transport of the bodies from Nepal to Schwechat Airport in Vienna, Austria. The two climbers were members of a mountaineering expedition, which on Tuesday evening, 14 October was hit by an avalanche below the peak of Dhaulagiri. Another seven Slovak and one Czech mountaineers survived and were rescued. There are currently still 41 Slovaks in Nepal at the moment and the foreign ministry cannot get into contact with 11 of them.
