University Hospital Trnava used new technique

For the first time, the University Hospital Trnava used a new technique to operate on a serious condition involving the vascular system in the brain. The operation was performed by the team of interventional radiologists Matúš Hoferica and Ján Haršány using a special device. The patient was treated for a complicated aneurysm.

"Thanks to the new technique, our doctors were able to safely and effectively treat this high-risk brain aneurysm, which represents a significant moment in the treatment of patients with this serious health problem," the hospital added.

According to the hospital, the procedure allows the interventional radiologist to safely and effectively close the aneurysm from inside the vessel, minimising the risk of rupture and subsequent bleeding.
