The opposition Most-Hid party plans to prepare another motion for the European Court of Human Rights, challenging the legality of the Slovak Citizenship Law.
According to its MP Gabor Gal even if this court has already rejected two of their motions, now they will try to find a legal constellation that would convince the European Court, that the rights of Slovak citizens guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights have been violated. According to him, this concerns in particular the right to privacy, family life, and to judicial protection. The law stipulates that Slovak citizens applying for the citizenship of other countries have to renounce the Slovak one.
