Peter Bencurik, Jozef Kroslak, Lukas Machala, and Jarmila Mikusova were appointed to the Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) Council by Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova on August 1. They were selected from 19 candidates reviewed by a five-member commission on July 24. The minister chose three based on the commission's recommendations and the fourth as proposed by the finance minister. Five additional council members will be elected by MPs, with nominations due by August 9 and selection expected by September 6. This council formation follows a law transforming RTVS into STVR and grants it the authority to appoint and dismiss the general director.
