In the village of Kyjatice in the Rimavská Sobota district they are again closer to active preservation and presentation of the exceptional cultural heritage. The old Kyjatice school has found its new mission, as it has undergone a partial reconstruction and will serve as a new home for Kyjatice toys, which are also included in the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovakia. The partial reconstruction of the old school has created space for the first participants of workshops on the production of Kyjatice toys and ornaments. The reconstruction, which is divided into phases, will thus create a new point of interest and make the cultural tourism offer in the Gemer and Malohont region more attractive.
