Villages with a population up to 2,000 can draw more than €30.9 million from EU funds to build their sewage and water supply network, as the Environment Ministry has already launched a call for these projects.
Villages can use the money to build sewage networks, wastewater treatment plants, decentralised systems for dealing with municipal wastewater, or the construction and expansion of public water supply systems, the ministry announced on its website.
"Eligible applicants for drawing this kind of financial support comprise municipalities, corporate entities established based on a special regulation, whose members are exclusively municipalities and/or associations of municipalities, and associations of these corporate entities," said the ministry. It added that EU funds are intended for projects approved by Partnership Councils within the tool of integrated territorial investments.
