In the third round of the Euro 2016 qualification, the Slovak national football representation defeated Belarus 3-1, in a match which took place on Sunday night in Borisov. Slovakia's leader Marek Hamšík struck twice in the final 25 minutes and Stanislav Šesták added a late third to see off Belarus.
The victory in Belarus secured Slovakia's lead in qualifying Group C after opening wins against Ukraine and Spain. “To get the results we're getting at the moment, you need to have a good team. And sometimes even a strong team cannot get the right results. The players have respect for each other and we have good players capable of delivering good performances and winning matches,” said Slovakia’s Coach Ján Kozák after the match.
