Tropical days can still be expected in several locations of Slovakia, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) has posted on its website, adding that it might be a record-long July series of tropical days.
"Tropical days in south Slovakia began on July 6 or on July 7. This series ended in south-west Slovakia and in the western part of the South-Slovak Basin on Friday (July 19), as the temperature there failed to climb to 30 degrees Celsius on Saturday (July 20). However, tropical days in some locations of the Gemer area and the southern part of the Kosice region continued, with the series not ending yet there, as the air temperature was reaching 30 degrees Celsius there even on Sunday," stated SHMU.
