Stats Office: July saw foreign trade surplus of €413.2 mn

Slovakia's foreign trade in July came in on a surplus of €413.2 million, which was a hike of €289.7 million year-on-year, the Slovak Statistics Office reported in a detailed report on Thursday.

Overall exports in July increased 3.2 percent y-o-y to reach €5.136 billion, while imports dropped 2.7 percent y-o-y to €4.723 billion. When the first seven months of the year are considered, the surplus is on €2.959 billion, which was a drop of €52.9 million year-on-year. The biggest surpluses were recorded in Slovakia's trading with Germany (€3.091 billion), the United Kingdom (€1.657 billion), Austria (€1.415 billion), Poland (€1.326 billion), the Czech Republic (€984.4 million), France (€931.6 million), Hungary (€670 million), Italy (€624.2 million) and the Netherlands (€516.8 million). Conversely, the greatest deficits were posted for trade with the South Korea (€2.596 billion), Russia (€1.708 billion), China (€1.704 billion), Japan (€352 million), Malaysia (€233.9 million), Taiwan (€207.7 million) and Ukraine (€181.1 million).
