The Government announced their long-term goals in the field of health care policy among which are better financing conditions for medical education and the establishment of a council for the public health insurance budget. The Ministry stated that these are priorities listed in the Program Statement of the Government of the Slovak Republic 2023 - 2027, which was approved last week. "Our goal is to create such working conditions that will be attractive to graduates and support them in their decision to work in Slovakia, while at the same time stopping the departure of experienced medical professionals abroad," the department said. It also has the ambition to set adequate conditions for funding medical education so that medical faculties are motivated to accept more Slovak students.
