Slovakia joined a pan-European operation against human trafficking in early July, TASR has been told by spokesperson for the Police Corps Presidium Roman Hajek. The European Multidisciplinary Platform AgaThe inst Criminal Threats (EMPACT) operation took place under the auspices of Europol, Interpol and Frontex in 40 European countries. As a result, 1,374 potential victims of trafficking in human beings were identified, including 153 children. A total of 219 suspects were arrested, and 276 new investigations were launched.
