Bratislava M. R. Štefánik Airport handled more than 246,000 passengers in June this year, which is a historical record for the airport. The number of passengers increased by 14% year-on-year. In the first half of 2024, the airport handled more than 733,000 people.
According to the CEO of the Bratislava airport Dušan Novota, the airport has surpassed the passenger numbers from the strongest years before the pandemic, namely the record-breaking Junes of 2018 and 2019. “Compared to last June, when 216,047 passengers were handled on arrivals and departures, this year's sixth month saw an even higher figure of almost 30,000.”
He added that in the first half of the year, people travelled most frequently to London, Milan, Dublin, Skopje and Antalya.
