International Monetary Fund predicts the rise of Slovak economy

Slovakia’s economic growth should accelerate in the coming years, according to the latest prediction of the International Monetary Fund. However, its dynamics should remain below 3 percent also in 2016. According to the IMF World Economic Outlook Slovakia’s economy should expand 2.4 percent this year, 2.7 percent next year and 2.9 percent in 2016.

“Compared to the latest prediction published by the National Bank of Slovakia the International Monetary Fund appears to be more pessimistic about Slovakia’s economic growth in the next two years, particularly in 2016”, analysts of the central bank’s monetary department said to the IMF prognosis. The National Bank of Slovakia prognosticates a 2.3 percent growth for this year while next year the economy should expand by 2.9 percent and in 2016 by 3.5 percent. IMF expects that following this year’s stagnation also price growth should recover.
