Slovakia to release report on children’s mental health in 2026

Slovakia is set to release a national report on the mental health of children and students in 2026, the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth announced on its website. According to the ministry, there is currently a lack of comprehensive and systematically collected data on the state of children in this area. "The aim of the project is to create a system of regular data collection in important areas of life affecting the development and quality of the mental health of children and students and to issue a regular report on the picture of their mental health," the ministry said.

Slovakia will then have relevant representative data for improving the quality of mental health of children and students, regardless of the scope of the department. Taking care of children's mental and psychological health is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Education. According to the ministry, the support of mental health contributes not only to better academic results, but also to the overall success of children and students. "In addition, it helps to prevent problems such as bullying, violence and truancy. The key to building a healthy school environment is early prevention, intervention and support," noted the ministry.
