The Slovak national football team has advanced to the 16th round in the European Championship in Germany. Their place was sealed by a 1:1 draw against Romania in the group E final. In round 16, the Slovak team is set to play the winner of the match between Spain and England.
Slovakia has reached the elimination round for only the second time in their three showings at the EC final tournament. This year they have a chance to beat their best from EURO 2016 in France, where they finished 14th.
