Finance Minister Ladislav Kamenicky on Monday announced a plan to improve tax collection and fight against tax evasion to facilitate the consolidation of public finances. According to the Minister, the gist of the plan will be speeding up and shortening the process of financial checks and eliminating tolerance of corruption. At the same time, the tax and customs office will undergo staff reorganisation. 9,000 employees of the unit should be deployed in the field and analytical processing of domestic and foreign data would be improved. According to the Minister, improved data could help to identify bottlenecks that need to be addressed and to carry out more frequent checks.
