Pope Francis congratulated Peter Pellegrini, who has become new Slovak president on Saturday, and assured him of his prayers, TASR learnt from the press office of the Slovak Bishops' Conference on the same day. "I'm sending you my heartfelt congratulations at the beginning of your mandate as Slovak president and at the same time I assure you of my prayers," the Pope said in his greeting, which was read by Apostolic Nuncio to Slovakia Nicola Girasoli at the end of the Holy Mass in St Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava.
