The winner of the 91st edition of the Košice Peace Marathon (MMM) on Sunday was Kenyan Gilbert Kiptoo Chepkwony with the time of 2:08:26. Besides receiving the wreath for the winners, he also received €10,000 as a premium.
Second place was won by his compatriot Dominic Kangor Kimwetich, with third being Ethiopian Mesfin Woldetensae Afewerki. The Košice Peace Marathon is Europe’s oldest marathon as it has been run in the metropolis of eastern Slovakia since 1924. This year 10,200 runners from 45 countries joined each other at the start line of all the prepared running disciplines.
