Higher inflation in May

After more than a year of continuous deceleration, annual inflation rebounded slightly, reaching two full two-tenths of a percent in May. Compared to April, it accelerated by a tenth of a percent. The biggest impact was on food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, which were up by an average of one per cent after two months of cheapening: we paid more for milk, meat and bread. Catering and accommodation services also became more expensive. By contrast, prices for housing and energy fell for the first time in three years.
