President Zuzana Čaputová on Saturday wished strength to Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who was attacked and hit by a man in the centre of the capital Copenhagen on Friday (June 7), TASR learnt from the President's post on X.
"Violence has no place in democratic societies - we must all stand up to it. Dear Mette, keep strong!," Čaputová wrote in English. Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen is said to have been left shocked and suffering whiplash after being struck by a man while walking in the centre of Copenhagen. The assault took place in a square in the city's old town when a man walked up to the politician and hit her. The attacker was swiftly arrested, but there is no word yet on a motive.
