The management of private TV Markíza ended negotiations with the strike committee representing part of the employees. It was called regarding the management's decision to temporarily discontinue the political show Na telo with the popular Slovak host Michal Kovačič. However, the management is interested in negotiating with members of the editorial staff, "who really want to de-escalate the situation and conduct constructive conversations", reported TV Markíza PR manager Lukáš Kočišek. The management pointed out that some of the demands of the strike committee aimed at appropriating part of the competencies of the broadcaster and that the employees do not respect ethical codex. The strike committee of the TV Markíza editorial office is strictly refusing the accusations of the management and general director Petr Gažík. "Finally, we object to the calls for the resignation of editors and moderators who have been doing their jobs for 10, 15, or 20 years. The whole time we have been concerned about only one thing - to work freely and according to journalistic standards,” the strike committee emphasized.
