Directors of Slovak institutes abroad arrived in Slovakia for the annual meeting

Directors of nine Slovak institutes operating abroad have arrived in Slovakia, where they are participating in the annual meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic from June 4 to 5, 2024. The head of Slovak diplomacy, Juraj Blanár, spoke with the directors today, who emphasized the importance of public and cultural diplomacy with the aim of presenting Slovak culture, history and the good name of the Slovak Republic abroad. He discussed with the management of the institutes the presentation of national art in the states of their jurisdiction, realized and planned activities and possibilities for further development.

The directors of cultural institutes of the Slovak Republic from Berlin, Budapest, Jerusalem, London, Paris, Prague, Rome, Warsaw and Vienna are taking part in the annual meeting these days, which organize cultural projects and activities from all spheres of art. Through their activities, they contribute to the cultural exchange between Slovakia and individual countries, thereby helping to better understanding between nations. As stated by Minister J. Blanár, culture is a worldwide universal language that strengthens diplomatic and economic bilateral relations. "Our Slovak institutes are also meeting places and support points for our compatriots, that's why I asked the directors to emphasize community building not only with foreign partners, but at the same time with Slovaks living in the country and involve them in cultural activities," the Minister emphasized. The two-day meeting of the leaders of Slovak institutes is aimed at setting priorities and goals for the promotion of Slovak cultural heritage for the near future and discussing strategic projects.
