Commuting in Bratislava and Zahorie will become more comfortable thanks to new Integrated Transport System (IDS) that was launched on Saturday. The modern European transport system was prepared by Bratislava region, Bratislava city, suburban bus carrier Slovak Lines, Slovak railways and Bratislava public transport company. Thanks to IDS people in the Bratislava region can now combine different modes of public transport while using a single ticket.
According to Bratislava Region Governor Pavol Frešo, it is a long-awaited dream that has come true. “The idea is simple and comprehensible: to use a single ticket for transport on suburban buses, regional trains and public transport city vehicles as well. It's the first step in making people leave their cars and prefer public transport, instead,” he said.
