Two cows have died at a private farm near Svidnik, in the Prešov region in Eastern Slovakia, with examinations confirming anthrax as the cause of death. This story was brought by the television channel Markiza.
Quarantine has been imposed on the farm. The farm is located near the town, so the authorities have warned the public not to approach the area and not to collect mushrooms or forest fruit in the vicinity. According to experts, the anthrax bacterium at the farm was most probably flooded out of the soil.
