The health protection of employees at work will increase; the adjustment concerns work with carcinogenic factors, mutagenic factors and reproductively toxic factors. The President of the SR Zuzana Čaputová signed the amendment to the Act on the Protection, Support and Development of Public Health. TASR was informed by her spokesperson, Martin Strižinec.
"Reproductively toxic factors, like carcinogenic factors and mutagenic factors, are among substances of very great concern because they can have serious and irreversible effects on the health of employees, especially on the sexual functions and fertility of adult men and women, on the lactation of women and on the development of their offspring" states the proposal.
The amendment is related to the transposition of the directive of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. It also changes the Education Act. It deals with the teaching of physical and sports education in schools. According to the new system, sports training, outdoor exercise courses, and sports training and exercise activities organized at school outside of school hours and in the school children's clubs could be included in the scope of hours of compulsory physical education.
